Jim passed away peacefully on the 11th of January 2026 surrounded by his loving family. Predeceased by his parents Catherine and James, brother Billy and sisters Julia, Margo and Frances.

Keep Piltown Tidy and Owning Tidy Towns 2025

The 2025 Supervalu tidy towns results were available on October 24th, 2025. The two villages entered the competition in 2025. On June 13th, the judges visited both villages and  conducted their inspections. Both villages increased their marks from the previous year which was very welcome.

These All-Ireland awards were established to promote and celebrate the best in community development.

The award, established in 2003, recognises the selfless efforts of people in making their community better places to live, work and socialise.
