John Maher, Oldcourt, Templeorum Piltown, Co Kilkenny.

John passed away peacefully on Sunday, 15th March 2026 under the tender care of his loving family and the ICU team at University Hospital Waterford.

Predeceased by his beloved wife, Ann, his infant son, John Paul, his parents Neddie and Mary and his brother, William.

Annual St. Brigid’s Day Service at St. Canice’s Catholic Church, Kilkenny

The Annual St. Brigid’s Day Service will take place in St. Canice’s Catholic Church, Dean Street, on Sunday, February 1st at 7:30pm.

Supervalu Tidy Towns 2025 Report

Keep Piltown Tidy and Owning Tidy Towns 2025

The 2025 Supervalu tidy towns results were available on October 24th, 2025. The two villages entered the competition in 2025. On June 13th, the judges visited both villages and  conducted their inspections. Both villages increased their marks from the previous year which was very welcome.

Templeorum Parish Confirmation 2026

The dates for Confirmations in the Diocese of Ossory have been issued and Confirmation for the 6th class pupils of our three schools, Piltown, Owning and Templeorum will take place on Tuesday, 28th April, 2026.
